We have been learning about different artists in art lessons and we have been focusing on Van Gogh at present. We learned to develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, and line, in the context of painting landscapes in the style of van Gogh and To know about the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers, describing the differences and similarities between different practices and disciplines in the context of learning about the artist, van Gogh. Here are the pictures we produced as a class.
For art this week, children were completing their final works based on Monet’s Cityscapes. We have learned about Foreground, Middle Ground and Background. Children used pastels and sugar paper in this lesson to achieved the same effect as Monet‘s thick brush strokes.
Today the students in Mr Haran's room got a sample of what it is like to cast their vote at a polling station for an election. The children have been learning about elections all week and the processes which are involved.
We have been learning all about the general elections in class and how the candidates advertise for the peoples votes by using elections posters. We have all created our very own election poster. Now for the big question.... WHO WILL YOU VOTE FOR???? (Click on an image below to enlarge) All images copyright of Clonnlyon National School
