As part of our learning, the children took on an important job, washing the dolls’ clothes! They carefully washed the clothes and hung them out to dry, learning Gaeilge phrases such as ag ní (washing) and ag crochadh suas iad (hanging them up).
This activity was a wonderful way to bring Gaeilge to life. The children were chatting, pretending, and using their new vocabulary naturally as they played. It also helped develop their independence, fine motor skills, and confidence in using Irish in real-life contexts.
There were lots of smiles, busy hands, and great Gaeilge being spoken. Learning through play makes language learning meaningful and enjoyable, and our little laundrette was a big hit! 😊
