Through hands-on play and teamwork, the children worked in small groups to design and build towers, bridges, and other creative structures. Once their constructions were complete, they compared their creations, using mathematical language to describe what they saw. “My tower is taller than yours!” and “This bridge is the longest!” could be heard all around the room.
This activity helped the children to develop their understanding of measurement, while also encouraging cooperation, problem-solving, and communication. They quickly discovered that by adding or removing blocks, they could change the height or length — an exciting way to see maths come to life!
Learning through play makes maths fun, meaningful, and memorable — and the smiles and laughter during our LEGO session proved just that! 🌟🧱
