Today marked the beginning of an exciting new art project for the senior room at Cloonlyon NS! The children were introduced to the materials they’ll be using over the coming weeks and learned about the tasks they would be completing for the day.
For today’s lesson, the children focused on creating the outlines of leaves using willow and a special bio-degradable tape. They were shown a new technique called the “Bend and Snap,” which helps make sure the joints of the leaves are strong and secure. It was fascinating to see the students’ concentration as they carefully bent the willow into shape, snapping it into place to form beautiful leaf outlines.
