As they worked, the children were also learning all about the colours in Gaeilge. They named and talked about the different colours they used, practising words such as dearg, gorm, buí, and glas. It was wonderful to hear Gaeilge being used naturally as the children played and built together.
This activity supported important skills such as fine motor development, problem-solving, and language learning, all through hands-on play. The finished Lego flowers were bright, cheerful, and unique — just like their creators!
A lovely example of how learning through play helps children grow in confidence and creativity. Maith sibh, a pháistí! 🌼💚
