Today Fri 17th February was the final day of the Vesnovo fund raising project. At assembly this afternoon, the good news was that the 4 day food / toy / DVD/ book / bracelet sale had come to an end and the final figure raised was a whopping €700! The coffee morning alone raised €130!
Mr McGuire thanked the children and parents for their effort and generosity over the four days. He was particularly struck by the children who donated their last remaining coins after the sale was over, rather than keeping the money for themselves. He assured everybody that every cent will be spent on the children and that it will bring joy and comfort to the children of Vesnova 'Children's' Mental Asylum'.
While Mr McGuire was generous in his praise of the efforts of the school community, there is no doubt everybody involved has a good reason to feel some small measure of satisfaction given the generosity of spirit that was so evident throughout the past week.

Since Tues 14th February the 5th & 6th (Confirmation) classes have been going all out with their Vesnovo fund raiser. The funds raised will enable Mr McGuire bring much needed supplies to the children of Vesnova Children's Asylum in Belarus where he will be providing help and support next week.
Thanks to all the bakers who created such fabulous delicacies over the last few days. Thanks to all who sent in books, toys, games, jigsaws and ornaments. Thanks to the generous children and parents who have been so supportive.
On Friday there will be a coffee morning from 9.15 -10.00 am approximately. All family and extended family members are welcome.
