Our annual Sports Day took place on Friday June 23rd. Although the weather was not very promising in the morning, the rain stayed away and we had an action packed day with pupils divided into eight teams. We had eight stations with a different activity at each. The activities were skipping, shooting hoops, bean bag throwing, pass the hula hoop, gaelic solos/keepie uppies, parachute, cross the river and long jump. Teams worked together at each station and their scores were recorded.
Congratulations to the navy jerseys team of Maolíosa, James L, Cadhla, Paddy Joe, Cailín, Emily H, Michael K and Cian who ended with the highest overall score and claimed the title of Sports Day Champions 2017! A special word of thanks to parents Mary, Michelle and Tina for running stations and helping out greatly throughout the day. Also many thanks to the Parents Association for providing food and drinks to all the athletes throughout the day.
After lunch we had lots of enjoyable races on the field which provided great enjoyment for competitors and spectators alike. Races included the sack race, egg and spoon race, three legged race and wheelbarrow race. They were very competitive with some very close finishes throughout.
