Ann Marie Hanley
Today in school we learned about selling food products. We learned how to price the product by using the amount it costs to make the item and our profit. Ann Marie sells coleslaw and other healthy foods in the area around Connacht. She makes the food and then she puts it in a van where it is taken to the shops. If items go off in the shop she has to take them back and get rid of them. She employs five staff members. She gets up at five o’ clock and finishes work at three O’ clock. Cian

The Acrobats
In October 2013 some acrobats came to the school. They were called the Mc Cormack’s. One of the acts they did was they stacked loads of chairs on top of each other until they reached the roof and then they climbed up on them.. There was an eight or nine year old boy with them and he was dressed up as a clown. He was really funny. Near the end of the show the little boy was doing handstands. The two older men balanced a chair on four bottles and everyone thought they were going to fall. When they had finished they did it with three bottles and then two and one.

As part of the 125 celebrations, the Mayo Concert Orchestra gave a recital of a number of selected classical pieces of music in Bushfield Church under the direction of George Lee. Prior to this performance, the pupils from the school gave their own performance of classical and traditional pieces. At the interval the samaba band from Monastraden NS gave a performance of Samba drumming.
