Its was Monday night 3rd November 2015 and everyone was excited about the day to come. The next morning all the class woke up and got to the car park and on to thee bus and then we were away.
Two or three hours on the we were finally there. The venue was The Helix on the campus of DCU. We walked in and there were balloons with the letters F I S. Everyone was in the hall all excited and we went up for a class photo. After that we waited for a while. Then we were the first ones called to go into the theatre where we got the very first row of seats.
About 10-15 minutes later it started. A big crane with a camera on top swooped around the venue. People going crazy about being seen by the camera! It started and Sinead Kennedy hosted the awards. The awards were an IPad (!) and a trophy type award. Ciara and Sarah handed out the awards.
24 schools came to the event. We got the second award for ‘best documentary'. There were nominees for each award. We got mentioned in the nominees about 4 times . When our school was called out everyone started roaring and clapping. Tomas and Megan went up and got the award.
After 24 schools the awards were finished. Balloons were given away ( in our case we nearly got the whole lot of them) and we got on the bus. We got back to the church and we couldn’t believe that there was a bonfire and loads of posters saying #fis #winners #2015.
We got home and we were proud of what we accomplished.
