They didn’t look very appetising when we dug them out of the garden last week as we prepared the school seed beds. However when washed and scrapped, the carrots drew a variety of responses from pupils such as ‘delicious’, ‘sweet’, ‘tasty’ and ‘nicer than shop carrots’. While last year didn’t produce a bumper crop such as we had the previous year, the remnants of the crop certainly hit the spot! | |

Cloonlyon NS is very proud to have received confirmation of the award of the Amber Flag .We are among the very first schools in the county to receive this flag. The school receives the award because of the work done in the promotion of positive mental health and well being. The Positive Mental Health week that was run in the school was a big factor as well as other initiatives such as the Amber Flag board, poster campaign by the pupils to raise awareness and the general sense of openness within the school with regard to mental health. Well done to all the committee and all the pupils and teachers whose efforts helped Cloonlyon NS achieve this award. The Amber Flag will be raised in June.
