Angelic explained what Type 1 Diabetes was to all the children and we had some questions and answers helping the children get an insight into what is involved on a daily basis in the management of diabetes.
Today the pupils of Cloonlyon wore blue to raise awareness for Diabetes. This was a fantastic show of support and encouragement for our little hero who bravely explained what this means for someone living with type 1 diabetes.

5th and 6th Class had great fun predicting what Christmas Jumper Ryan would wear this year. None of the children guessed correctly but in fairness who could have predicted a Pac-man Christmas Jumper.....
Today in the Junior Room, Junior and Senior Infants had lots of fun with the story of 9! After lots of discussion and work, they put their knowledge to practical use creating their names! They not only used their knowledge and understanding of the story of 9 but also revisited the story of 8 when creating their letters.
,Today was the grand opening of our new porch. The entire school gathered outside as our Junior Infants, Molly and Jonathan, stepped inside the porch to cut the ribbon. Following a wonderful cheer, all students entered the school through the new porch.
We would like to thank our parent representative Mary McCarthy for coming today. The new porch greatly enhances our wonderful school. On Friday, the 15th of November, the boys and girls of 3rd & 4th class took part in the local Fustal Blitz in Charlestown complex. This was a great day out where we competed against many great teams form the surrounding areas. The girls were unlucky not to get a win in a tough group. The boys progressed through to the final after a nail biting semi-final. In the final the boys faced off against Midfield and came out narrow winners in another great game. Check out some of our action shots below.
