Our first task was to roll up our sleeves and prepare the garden beds for the new season. The children worked together to clear out the weeds and remove any dead plants left from last year’s crops. With trowels, gloves, and plenty of enthusiasm, they tidied each bed and prepared the soil for planting.
This simple, hands-on activity gave everyone the chance to slow down, enjoy the fresh air, and work mindfully together. Gardening is a wonderful way to relax, connect with nature, and care for our environment, all important parts of wellbeing and our Amber Flag goals.
Now that the beds are clear and ready, the Garden Club is looking forward to sowing some winter vegetables soon. We can’t wait to see what will grow and to continue learning how small, mindful actions can make a big difference, both in the garden and in ourselves.
