It was a historical and proud day today as the schools past pupils from the St Joseph's CC, Charlestown, All Ireland Senior and Connacht Juvenile winners, visited Cloonlyon NS.
Both the captains-Conor O Donohue and Brendan Mc Cormack- are past pupils of the school and they brought with them their respective trophies as well as the league cup.
They were warmly greeted by staff and pupils as they arrived in the GP room accompanied by their teachers and some of their parents. In all 12 past pupils are panel members of the two teams.
Tribute was paid to the effort, and commitment of the players, their mentors and parents. While the achievement may be a once in a lifetime event for some of the players, others present can surely draw inspiration and courage from the example of these committed sportsmen.
