As part of the schools programme to develop pupil interest in Science, Maths and Computational Thinking in particular, the senior room pupils got to use the bee boots for the first time last week. The bee bots are mini robots that can be programmed to travel in certain directions and over different distances.There are a series of hands on tasks involved which teach directionality, planning, sequencing, counting, and working together. There is much talk and discussion stimulated as various theories are worked on.
Over the next few weeks all classes and pupils will get an opportunity to problem solve using the bee bots. Given the enthusiasm of the first users, there are some ineteresting times in store!
