The pupils of fifth and sixth class put their pitch to the Dragons today presenting their group project ideas in the den. Each group battled their nerves and put on an exceptional array of presentations.
First to present was team A.S.K. To Survive who pitched their homework and travel survival kits which aim to equip one with the essential items necessary for homework or that long journey. Team J.E.C.K. modelled their customised woolly hats perfect for all sporting occasions as the homemade pompom can be produced in colours of your team. Team Peace highlighted the need for the peace package which aims to de-stress, calm and bring inner peace. Finally, BBB or Bushfield Bird Boxes demonstrated how they aimed to take advantage of the gap in the market for bird boxes in light of recent grants.
The Dragons were extremely impressed with the high standard of the presentations citing exceptional products and amazing innovation. The Dragons gave the pupils constructive feedback and advice on their projects. They commended the creative thinking and problem solving that was clearly fostered during the student's JEP journey. They praised the pupils on their evidence based approach using market research. Much deliberation took place amongst the Dragons as to which project would go through to the next stage of the JEP as the ‘Big Idea’. The peace package was chosen due to its uniqueness, its emphasis on the promotion of positive mental health and its appeal to a broad market.
A sincere thank you to the Dragons Lisa Finn of CMS Distributions Kiltimagh, Leo Forkan of Mayo Health Care Westport and Ms Fahy for their time and business advice.
