The day began with the boys playing Brusna in the semi-final. After a very strong first half showing, we were well ahead at half time. We made some changes for the second half and the boys who came on put in an excellent display which meant we won the match and progressed to the final where we were to play Kilmovee who defeated Carracastle in the other semi-final.
We got off to a very slow start in the final and found ourselves behind at half time. However, we regrouped at the break and put in an excellent second half display which saw us cut the deficit but unfortunately we didn't manage to get ahead and eventually lost by a few points. Congratulations to Kilmovee and we wish them the best in the next round.
In the girls competition we also played Brusna in the semi-final and after starting slowly found ourselves behind with half-time approaching. However, a huge effort from all the girls saw us leading by a single point at half-time. From the throw-in at the start of the second half it was clear that the girls were not going to let the lead slip and although a very determined Brusna team pushed us all the way we held our nerve and advanced to the final to play Carracastle, who defeated Kilmovee in the other semi-final.
In the final, we had some great performances all over the pitch, but in the end Carracastle proved to be a little too strong for us and ran out winners by a few points. Best wishes to Carracastle in the next round.
