It was an extraordinary day for the pupils of the four schools from Charlestown parish as they got two meet an exceptional person, Vice President Joe Biden. The expectation of the children was only surpassed by the reality of a man who was completely child friendly , relaxed and willing to devote time to speak to the young people who probably had little concept of his stature.
But that wasn’t his agenda. He and his family members connected with the children in a very pleasant and interested manner leaving children with memories worth sharing. It was an amazing day in so many ways. Thank you to all who helped make it so memorable.
To top off a really special day, Ireland beat Italy 1-0.
